Itote J. Ifedayo is an astute legal practitioner, passionate health advocate and committed self-development enthusiast.
With over ten years of legal practice, Itote has learnt the rudiment of litigation, legal research and documentation. She has worked in different law firms, which has made impacts in her career progression.
Itote enjoys mentoring young people. For over two years, she has consistently been speaking to young adults via social media, one-on-one conversations, live events and recently through podcasting where she focuses on personal development and growth.
Her podcast name is Fridays With iTote which is available on almost every podcast listening platforms.
She has been using her advocacy experience from legal profession to speak for those living with sickle cell disease.
Under the non-governmental organization, Sickle Cell Health Initiatives (Iamnotmyscd), where she presently works, she initiated the first secondary schools outreach in Ondo State on sickle cell disease awareness and free genotype test for students with the permission of their guardians or parents.
This was a well accepted approach as students were not only educated about what sickle cell disease is but also got to know their genotype and the essence of knowing their genotype at a young age.
She has also featured on television and radio shows to talk on sickle cell disease awareness and government policies which has helped in educating the public more on the disease as many people reached out to the NGO for advice and collaboration in subsequent outreach programs.
She was also part of the team that organized the first ever Pain Management Summit on Sickle Cell Disease in Nigeria held in Lagos State in September 2022.

Another edition of this summit is being prepared for and it is believed that this year’s summit will educate more sickle cell warriors, caregivers and medical professionals on pain management in sickle cell disease.
It is also expected that this summit will subsequently be taken to different states in the country to increase awareness and advocacy for sickle cell disease and also debunk myths about the disease.
Itote believes that she is in the world to enrich humans of every creed, and she is determined to actualize this vision.
She is enthusiastic about establishing genuine connections with experts in the legal, health and mass communication field.
