Nigerian scholar wows many as he launches platform for scholarship opportunities

Doctor Olumiyiwa Igbalajobi has been commended by many Nigerians at home and abroad for launching Scholarships Cafe, a platform that connects qualified candidates to real-time opportunities and academic jobs across the world.

Dr Igbalajobi, who works as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Michael Smith Laboratories, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of British Columbia, said the platform is free for all to use.

Speaking with Muse.ng on why he founded Scholarship Cafe, he said he wanted an inclusive and equitable quality education for everyone from all works of life.

According to the scholar, through Scholarship Cafe, everyone is given access to quality opportunities and the platform will ensure that these people are heard, seen, and valued.

He said anyone who uses the platform adopts originality and avoids the conventional practice of following the crowd.

Dr Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi works as a postdoctoral research fellow.

Dr Olumuyiwa said the platform also teaches its users how to develop the mental, physical, and emotional flexibility needed to deal with the challenges of scholarship journey.

In his words: “We are committed to connecting institutions with excellent talents that exceed ordinary standards through the best practices.

“All activities and opportunities are shared with everyone without hidden agenda and secrets.

“We believe that great communication with its community enhances trust and success.”
